Title: Gypsy: A Proud Legacy of Fredricos Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

As a breeder of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, each puppy brought into the world holds a special place in my heart. But there's one particular pup whose journey has filled me with immense pride and joy - Gypsy " Fredricos Amour Boheme " the remarkable assistance dog for Tracy and her team at " Empower Assistance Dogs ".

Gypsy's story is one of transformation and purpose. After retiring from her showing and breeding duties, it became evident that her path lay elsewhere. Despite her success in the ring and the whelping box, Gypsy's true calling was to become a beacon of love, hope, and warmth to individuals across all walks and stages of life.

After her second litter, we made the decision to redirect Gypsy's talents towards a different role. We recognised her innate ability to connect with people on a deeper level - a quality that would serve her well in her new career as an assistance dog.

From comforting those in palliative care to providing invaluable support to individuals with disabilities she also played an incredible role as a key support to workers during the Disabilities Royal Commission where she helped witnesses giving evidence. We thank MP Melissa McMahon for recognising and including beautiful little Gypsy in this role. Ironically, Gypsy herself has a disability as she is deaf. Gypsy's impact knows no bounds. Her gentle demeanor and unwavering affection have made her a cherished companion to people facing their most challenging moments, whether in hospitals or in their own homes.

Gypsy's role in palliative care is particularly touching. With her loving presence and empathetic nature, she offers comfort and companionship to individuals and their families during their final days. Her ability to bring solace in such difficult times is a testament to the remarkable bond between humans and animals.

Despite facing the challenge of deafness, Gypsy's spirit remains unshakable. Instead of letting it hold her back, she has embraced her unique abilities and thrived, becoming a symbol of resilience and strength for all who have the pleasure of meeting her.

As Gypsy continues to touch the lives of countless individuals with her unwavering dedication and boundless love, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to have played a part in her story. She is more than just a dog to me - she is a living embodiment of everything I strive for in temperament as a breeder: kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

Gypsy's journey as an assistance dog is a testament to the incredible bond between humans and animals, and I am honored to have been a part of it. As she continues to spread love and happiness wherever she goes, I am filled with pride knowing that she is making the world a better place, one wag of her tail at a time.
